MommyCon 2017 Has Begun!
This past weekend I traveled to Chicago for WEAR and MommyCon. It was AMAZING. It was my 5th MommyCon (I've been to 4 in Chicago and 1 in Columbus) and I can say that this was the BEST yet. This year, the event in Chicago combined it's annual WEAR Conference with MommyCon for a 3-day extravaganza. There were so many adorable babies, lots of carriers, diapers, laughs and hugs.
I had the privilege of serving in two capacities. I am this year's host of the Cloth Diaper Resource Center (#clothdiaperresourcecenter) - come see me if you want to learn more about the MANY varieties of cloth diapers, trainers, swim diapers and accessories. I can help you work on solutions for issues you've been having, chat about the benefits of wool and help you manage your washing situation. Also, I just love talking about cloth and love it when moms come and share that love with me. :-)
The other capacity I'm serving in at MommyCon is host of the Loss Mama Sanctuary. I'm spending time with moms who have lost a baby during pregnancy or childbirth. We should not have to work through our grief alone. The Loss Mama Sanctuary session is a safe space for mamas to meet other mamas who have experienced the same type of grief. Together we work on tools for remembering our babies, working through our grief, managing when our emotions hit hard and establishing a safe space back at home. My first session was on the 5th anniversary of my angel baby's passing. I couldn't have spent that day remembering her in a better way.
It has been a few days since I returned from #MommyCon and I'm still SO full from the weekend. I met so many amazing mamas, their cutie patootie babies and a ton of vendors with amazing tools for making mamahood a little easier.
So many COOL things happened this year. Tula dropped a NEW carrier. Their new free-to-grow carrier can carry a newborn up to a 45lb toddler without the need for two carriers or an infant insert. I got to try it on and I am IN LOVE!!! Abby's Lane threw an amazing party and MommyCon announced the dates for 2018.
Below are some of the highlights from the weekend. Enjoy!
