DIAPER REVIEW: Thirsties One Size All in One, hook and loop.
Hiatus. Maybe I’m too familiar with this term lately. We relocated from Michigan to Georgia at the beginning of 2016. My daughter was 9, my son 2 and my youngest son was 6 months. We didn’t immediately move into our own house and opted to stay with my grandmother while we scouted the area for the best schools and neighborhood. With this move also came a hiatus on cloth diapering. We didn’t want to “rock the boat” at someone else’s house and decided that we would resume once on our own again. So fast forward a bit and we are finally on our own again! And my now 17-month- old is back in cloth and it’s like learning all over again.
So far, my favorite diaper has been the Thirsties One Size All in One, hook and loop. Thirties were my favorite go-to diaper when the boys were smaller. They were just the right size and softness for my little one’s bums.
This diaper cannot get any simpler. When dealing with a kid on the run, simplicity is key. There no stuffing, no snaps and I can get the diaper on before he rolls and jumps off the bed. Since the diaper is one size, you can tailor the fit match your baby’s size. The All in One has four layers of microfiber terry, a microfleece liner and PUL on the shell to keep the diaper waterproof.
The One Size All in One retails at $19.75 and falls in line with the cost of similar diapers. Thirsties, Inc. is committed to making cloth easy and affordable while investing in our local economy. According to their site, the products are manufactured in Colorado by talented individuals, including other moms that work from home. Who doesn’t love that option?
Because the middle liner is sewn into the diaper on one end, you have to deal with the insert at every stage. When baby is smaller, this diaper can become a bit bulky. Once you have a walker, the bulk is not as noticeable and I have not had an issue with leaks around the legs at any stage.
This is why I love this diaper! Since easing back into cloth, learning how long a diaper can stay on versus leaks (I’ve had several) has been an issue but not with this diaper. This one is definitely great for endurance. Washing is easy as well. The pro to the liner being sewn into the diaper on one side leads to a quicker drying time.
Overall, this is an awesome diaper that comes in some pretty cool colors and patterns. From the ease of use to the great absorbency, the One Size All in One stays in heavy rotation around here. Couple that with the fact that the company is US-based makes Thirsties a no brainer.
